New mould prep.

I'm rather new to casting my own bullets. I would like to know if using a wood match or a butane lighter is best to prep new moulds. Thanks.

Either one will work.

A candle flame is great too.
Maybe greater.

The only preparation I do is a thorough degreasing. I use brake cleaner, but some prefer hot water with dish soap and scrubbing with a toothbrush.

If your mould doesn't cast well without smoking, there is a deeper problem.
