Anyone got one of these yet? Thinking about buying one..Was gonna buy the "Ultra Varmint" in .223 (for coyote), then I saw this one...And the Fluted has a 1 in 9 twist which I want, for heavier bullets, while Ultra Varmint has 1 in 12...too slow for 69 or 70 grain bullets.

I have the non-fluted Ultra-Varmit, which started out shooting MOA groups with factory ammo, and is now shooting about 1/2MOA with handloads. I really like the idea of the 1/9 twist. And the fluting...

Did they raise the price much?

Wow, a 1-9 twist  . That is good news. Anyone know the rate of twist on their other rifles or should I Email them and let you all know? (I really want to know what rate of twist their 22-250 has.)

I called customer support @ 978-630-8220

to ask about the twist rates....Price on the Fluted was $280 versus $220 for Ultra Varmint at my local Gander Mtn....They don't have any(Fluted) in stock said it would take a week to order.

ultra varmint fluted?? questions

hey, im looking to buy a H and R Ultra Varmint Fluted in .204 ruger. I can get one from my work (Dicks Sporting Goods) for $160 but i have to order it and they are all out of them. but anyway, i want to know a little bit more about them before i go ahead and order it. On the bipod extender, that just slides out toward the muzzle so that the bipod isnt in the way of your left hand?? and is this rifle accurate? im probably going to put a muelller 8-24-50 on it witha sport dot. it runs 200 clams at gander mountain. i would just like a little bit of feed back on this rifle please, thanks
dennis

I was going to pick one of these up but got a K98 Mauser instead...history over necessity this time...I would like a range report as well.
