New nra numbers

As I recall, NRA membership peaked around 4 million after the 94 AWB. Thats when I first joined and gifted three annual memberships. This time I upgraged to life member and signed up my three kids for life as well. I'll probably gift a few more annuals again too.
 
In the past I have been disappointed with the NRA's tactics, but this time I feel the threat matches their rhetoric. Joined last week.
 
If the NRA isn't putting the membership growth out for us to see on their website why would we believe anything anyone else says about the membership?
