Well I think I finally have my rifle setup the way I like it and have settled on this setup. I recently purchased a Nikon M-223 1-4x scope w/ the BDC reticle mounted via a quick detach Burris PEPR and am VERY pleased with the setup. Thought I'd show some before and after pictures (I decided that my rifle is more practical when setup for the range rather than clearing houses - something I only do on the XBOX :D)

p.s. Settled on this setup, that is, until I thought of purchasing a 20" for my new scope!!

You would be surprised at how well thos 1-4 powered scopes work at close range stuff. Almost as fast as your Aimpoint.
 
I'm quickly coming to agree with you. I did some transitions as from near, to far, and back to near targets as if I were participating in a competition and was very pleased with how well this particular optic was able to perform.
