Yesterday I shot four and a half mags through my new stainless Para Ordnance P14-45. I bought it from a guy who bought it in the 1990's and never fired it. It's true--it had not been fired. Para tells me it was produced in May, 1996. I got three factory 14 round mags with it. The gun fired without any problems. This single action pistol has a trigger with little take-up but a little pressure is required to fire it. I am happy with the trigger because it isn't so light that you can accidentally fire it just by placing your finger on the trigger. I found the manual's description of take-down and reassembly confusing but the process is simple once you understand it. This is my first pure 1911 (I also have a Star PD which is somewhat similar to a 1911). I bought this pistol because of the 14 plus 1 rounds of .45 capacity. This is a lot of firepower. Weighs about 40 oz. empty, so they say. Fit and finish is very good. Looks like a quality piece. The recoil wasn't unpleasant and this is a fun pistol to fire. Accuracy was good even with the fixed three dot sights. The mags work well but aren't as well finished as those made by Mec Gar, for example. I believe that Para makes its own mags.

I have both a p-14 and a p-16 (old medel) and love them both. You have a fine piece there! Enjoy it!

Believe it or not, that big ole 1911 double stack can be ccw'd with an IWB holster quite easily. It hides much better than you would imagine. With the hi-cap mag(s), you are WELL armed!
