New Pistol Dies

I received 2 sets of new pistol dies this week. What is the best way to clean them for the first time and then lube them to prevent rust.

Same way you clean your guns.

Bore solvent on a clean cotton cleaning patch.
Then, a dry patch in the sizing die so the case sizing lube can get a grip and do it's job

They don't need to be cleaned of the factory shipping oil on the outside other then wipe off enough they aren't dripping.

I load quite a bit of wax-lubed lead bullets and boy does the set die get gummed up. I use to clean it with laquer thinner and q-tips.
Anyone else have a better way?
My last loading of 9mm my OAL became shorter and shorter over the loading of 1000 rds. That wax gets into everything.
