I'm looking at picking up a new handgun soon (as in next week). I have two real choices in mind for a new 9mm semi-automatic, midsize handgun for concealed carry. I managed to narrow it down to a Gen3 Glock 19 (two-tone) or a CZ 75 P-07 Duty. I've already got a CZ 75BD so the P-07 is very familiar to me operationally.

I test fired both at the range a while ago, I shot well with both. From seven yards not a single bullet went outside the eight ring with the CZ (that's good right?) and with the G-19 I had few fliers out in the seven ring but still did pretty good in my estimation with more than half landing in the nine ring.

The CZ has points over the G-19 in terms of excellent ergonomics and an Oh, so sweet trigger pull as well as the ability to switch the safety out for a decocker. The G-19 with good ergonomics and an acceptable trigger pull makes a very good case against the CZ in that magazines and other accessories are available in every gun store and gun show in America. For the CZ I'd have to hunt or go online for those things.

So with that and a $550 budget ceiling in mind I'd like y'all to weigh in my options on a Gen 3 Glock 19 vs. the CZ 75 P-07. I'd like to keep my choices between those two firearms specifically but if there is something you feel I absolutely have to consider feel free to add it.

Thanks, and have a Merry Christmas!!

I have both. The Glock should retail around $480-$500 and the P-07 around $425-$450. Both are great guns. At the end of the day, I find that I shoot the P-07 a little better, but not enough to give it the absolute edge. They are about the same size. Compared to a Gen 3, the CZ ergos are far better. Gen 4 ergos are better for me. Glock 19s have been time-tested and are bullet-proof. So far, so good with the P-07, but I don't know if there is the anecdotal evidence of reliability as there is with the 19. It's a win-win IMO.

Two-tone question

Also does the two-tone Glock 19 (Gen 3) have anything else special about it? I've heard the two tone because of it being stainless steel is more resistant to corrosion and can go longer between cleaning cycles is that true?

not sure if Glock makes stainless slides. There are Nickel Boron coated models though. I have NEVER heard of anyone having rust problems on the standard Glock slide.

I would say 2t glock. However, 2t would be either aftermarket custom work or lone wolf sis slide- or do they really make ones in 2t?

As mentioned above, the only two tone Glock's I've seen are aftermarket options (not counting the non-black framed models). The nickel-boron finish "FailZero" models were offered by somebody like Talo, though I'm not sure it was them specifically.
