I am new to THR. However, I finally broke down and bought a Glock 30 today. I renewed my CWP here in FL yesterday and thought that a new gun should 'ring' in the occasion. So today I picked up a G30 from Bass Pro Shops. I'm nothing but 100% satisfied with my purchase. I know this is a stupid question but are there any G30 owners out there? And can you offer any good accessory advice?

Is it the g-30, or the new g-30 sf? I'm thinking of trading my beloved g-27 for a G-30sf. Good accessories would include night sights(I like Trijicons), A good holster (I like Fobus paddles), and a good, stiff belt

The G30 is a great (and popular) CCW selection. Congratulations on your pick. While THR is my forum of choice, if you really want to go off the deep end with the fans of Tactical Tupperware (GLOCKs) just stop by GLOCKtalk. But I warn you, if you mention ANY other handgun over there...they've burn you at the stake. Enjoy your new pistol.

It's the regular Glock 30, not the new slim frame one. I think I'll wait until the kinks get worked out out new SF models before I buy one.

I love it however. I was going to buy one years ago as my first CCW weapon, but opted to go with another brand. While i love my other guns, this one is perfect for my niche, and wish i had gotten this one first. I sure would have saved some $$.

Got one, love it. congrats, I put a trijicon on the front site, cheap and easy to do yourself if you decide down the line, it's the rear sight that's a pain unless you have the tool, for a rear sight, I have a Ghost ring. I shoot it better with that combination than anything else I have tried.

Well I took to range. Shot 160 rounds thru it.

100rds of Winchester USA Brand (WWB) 230grain FMJ.

50 Rds of Blazer Brass 230 grain FMJ.

16 rounds of Winchester 230 grain SXT.

Not one failure of any kind. The range was 15 yds total. I started out at 7yds for initial testing. The pistol shot point of aim with all the ammo, at the seven yards. This is the first pistol I've owned that I was able to do a "controlled burst" or "double tap" with. I went with 4 other guys who all shoot and they all were impressed.

I set up a human sized silo. at 15 yds, and aimed for center of mass. All 11 rounds were inside a basket ball at that range. All in right lung and heart area of the target.

I own Ruger's, CZ's, Colt's, Taurus's, & Smith's. And I gotta tell ya. I should have got on this band wagon a long time ago.

Go Gaston, Go Glock!
