im just starting to look at reloading kits andd i'm undecided between the lee anniversery kit and the RCBS supreme master reloading kit and im wondering if there is anyone who has any advice on what to get and what is the bes for a begining reloader and if those arn't good choices, what is, im mostly going to be reloading 7mm mag, 45. acp, 22-250, 357 mag and a little 9mm so are these good kits

RCBS is top quality. Remember, a reloading press is a lifetime investmjent if you buy quality. And that RCBS will "live" longer than you, and your children.:)

Redding and Lyman also make exceptionally high quality equipment.

this question comes up a couple times a week and there are some very thorough posts out there.

Lee classic turret press (not to be confused with their older aluminum frame turret press) has a very happy and vocal following.

I'm a new re-loader and it is what I use for .30-30, .38 spl, and .357 mag (and hopefully soon to add 9m Luger and .30-06 Springfield). I'm happy as a clam and can't picture myself ever needing more capacity (unless I hit the lottery.....want to send me a tickety?)

Use search function and you'll find a deluge of info. talking this press up, posted by guys who know a lot more about it than I do.

I would not start with the anniversary kit. I would go ahead and get the Classic Turret Press Kit. I got the Anniversary Kit at Christmas and now I want the Turret Press. I've been perfectly happy with Lee equipment because of it's price.

presses..

I know it wasn't one of your choices, but unless you have your heart set on one or the other, I'd look at Dillon. My wifey finally talked me into buying a 650B, and I'll tell you, I'll never own anything else. In the last 12K rounds I loaded, I broke one primer extractor and Dillon sent TWO brand new ones without charge. It took me awhile to get it all set up , but I'll tell you, they are fine machines.

If you're looking at "starter" type kits, I'd pass on both the kits you mention and get a Lee Classic Turret press kit from Kempf's gun shop.

Why the Lee Classic Turret press kit? Because it allows you to learn like you're loading on a single stage, but it's much faster. So instead of loading 50 rounds/hour, you'll be loading 200 rounds an hour. This relates to much greater satisfaction.

As far as single stages go, I owned an RCBS Rock Chucker, but found the Lee Classic Cast single stage to be a better press, so I sold my Rock Chucker and kept the Lee Classic Cast single stage.

Regards,

Dave
