New to reloading. Need a tumbler.

I suggest either a Berry's or a Thumler. Both are well made. The Thumler is my favorite, but it's also pricey.

I've been using a frankford tumbler for close to 15 years. Of course, it probably only has 100 hrs on it. I don't tumble religiously. My uncle's burned up a couple of cabelas tumblers. He was struggling with one last weekend. Says the bearings in the motors aren't lubed and after a while they quit starting reliably, then at all. (I'm not a motor guy, I don't really know what that means) But he uses his tumblers a lot more than I do.

No you don't

Im slowly getting into reloading. Ive been saving my brass for awhile now and I want to start prepping to reload down the road. Im just taking baby steps at this point so I figured a good first step is preparing my brass. Whats a good tumbler/cleaning kit? I dont need something crazy high end because Im not going to be cleaning thousands of rounds per month. I found this kit and was wondering if I should take the deal on it or look elsewhere. Thanks!

Here is the kit Im interested in: http://slickguns.com/product/frankford-arsenal-master-tumbler-kit-6557-fsss?a=5735&k=other
Yes, prepping your brass is important, but for 30 years I just wiped my brass clean of any grit and I was fine. Many other people wash them in a bucket, rinse in hot water and air dry or use a dishwasher (but many of those don't use a dishwasher that also does eating dishes).

I have a tumbler now and my brass is prettier but shoots just the same as it ever did.

Dimensions are more important than looks.

Just one man's opinion about putting your (limited?) dollars on the higher priority items.

I won't tell you not to get one or that they are not worth having. Just that it is not a deal-breaking essential.
