Just picked up a Marlin 81TS in .22LR. Paid too much ($199) at a small shop in town. Figured I would be close to that ordering it from a discounter and messing with transfers and shipping anyway, he had it and I didn't have to get a columbus permit to buy from his shop. (I live outside columbus, everything close is in columbus :banghead: )
Anyhow, I like the feel of it and will probably try making a wood stock this winter to replace this fiberglass one (feels nice, kind of fugly though )
I pulled the bolt and looked down the bore. There's a little dirt in there, so I figured on running a few patches through before shooting it.
The bolt has a fairly light coat of some sort of grease, and is fairly stiff.
Do I scrub it down and lightly oil it? Leave it alone? See how it is after its had some use?
Anything else I should do?
Its raining to hard to take it out, so you might as well come up with SOMETHING for me to do with it
