Whilst scouting about in my usual haunts today, I happened upon a spankin' new Henry .22 lever-action. In need of a decent .22 rifle...and bein' able to resist anything except temptation...and bein' particularly fond of leverguns...I caved in and brought it home with me.
(Took a lotta arm-twistin', lemme tell YOU!)

It's the plain vanilla blued version instead of the pretty Golden Boy...but it has the same buttery action and seems to be a pretty solid little .22 for the money. I guess the proof's in the puddin'. Anybody have any experience with'em, I'd appreciate the info. This is my first Henry, and I'm chompin' at the bit to give it a chance to impress me.

I've got one I picked up on a whim at the local Wally World. I've done some plinking with it but have never put rounds on paper. I've been happy with it for the little I've asked out of it.

I haven't even asked minute of squirrel out of mine. She's led the easy life so far.

Getting my rifles sighted in is one of my upcoming projects.

Its a fun little rifle to tote along and I have done some indescriminate blasting around the local shooting area with it and always had fun.

I'd be surprised if you weren't happy with it.

Very accurate and very reliable, the one I have anyhow. I can put all tubefull of ammo in the bullseye of a 25 yard NRA target at 25 yards ;- and it is extremely fun to shoot to boot!

You sure will like it. I love mine!

Uh...be real careful when you clean it. The "blue" on the barrel isn't blue, it's paint. Strong solvents will strip it right off. Trust me. I worked in a gun shop and this was first hand experience. I'd only use oil on the outside.

I got the urge for a lever gun and bought a Henry 22 Mag it was an impulse buy. Took it to the range and had alot of feeding problems with various ammo. The gun is smaller than others and feels more like a youth gun to me. The receiver is painted not blued and will not hold up to harsh chemicals and it chips easily. The novelty quickly wore off so I put it on consignment at my local gun shop.Good news it sold quickly for almost what I paid for it.Henry does a good job of filling a niche on the low end lever gun range. To me it would be a great little gun to get kid's started in shooting inexpensively.

I've got a Golden Boy .22 that's a ball - I only wish that tube held closer to 100 rounds because I get rather carried away with that lever action and cheep ammo! :)

But seriously, it is buttery, and it is accurate. Did I mention fun? Metal resetting targets are the best with this gun. I'd love to get a .22 dueling post along with a the Henry .22 pump action rifle - just how fun would that be dueling between a pump .22 and a lever action .22??!!

tuner, i shoot the crap out of mine. levers are so much fun.
tell you what though... i recommend getting the large loop. you can special order it from wally world

edit: btw, i mostly shoot aluminum cans at 50' or so and no problems at all with accuracy
