Hey guys, last Sat. , Oct. 4, I bought a new Henry pump action .22 rifle. I am ecstatic about this rifle, never owned this brand, but am very pleased with this purchase. I took it to the range the next morning, took some CCI mini mags to see how things worked, astounding accuracy @ 25 yards. With open sights, I was able to keep things inside a quarter sized hole, my aging eyes need new glasses, but I was pleased with the results. My buddy showed up before I finished, he's in the mood now to get one also. Again, first time buyer of Henry, beautiful walnut furniture, very, very smooth finish on the wood, the octagon barrel I think helps with the superb accuracy, worth the monies on this one.

Is it the frontier model (octagon barrel "blue" receiver cover or the golden boy (octagon barrel with a brasslite receiver cover) Iv wanted a frontier model but every one only carries the standard one or the golden boy.

Lol scratch that just read it's the pump

I own the leveraction model h001 and its super accurate with Remington thunderbolts and cci mini mag target shells! I have a scope with raised mounts on it and so I can use sights if needed. it is my small game hunter! :) p.s. mine has butter smooth action, so hows the pumps action??

I got a new 001 about two months ago, too (lever gun.)

But haven't got to try it out yet. I hate paper-punching in indoor ranges with rifles, so I've been waiting to get to an outdoor rifle range with it and three other rifles I've recently picked up (M&P15, Glenfield 75, and Marlin 99M1, that last one of which was purchased yesterday.)

Like you, 788HAM, I'm thrilled to have a Henry, even if it isn't the Golden Boy.

Alex,
He said it's the pump model, which is not a levergun & neither the Frontier nor the Golden Boy.

Sorry guys, the Henry model I picked up is the H0031 pump. Yes, the action is smooth, possibly not as smooth as an lever action I'd felt previously. I picked up a product called "Hot Sauce", a light grease made for fishing reels, have applied some of this to the action, hopefully it will continue to smooth things up and be like the lightning smooth levers. I haven't gotten 100 rounds down range yet, my working part time has kept me off the range, cold, rainy weather also effecting things. This rifle is one of the nicest in my safe, not sorry one cent for the purchase !
