Hello all, I have taken a liking to the new design and thought I'd pick one up. The shop only has a 5 1/2 inch barrel and says the 4 5/8 is under produced and they cannot say when they will get one in .357. My question other than aesthetics and desire what if any would be the difference. I can't remember seeing any short Colts in the old westerns. Thanks C

What you see in westerns and what you would have seen in the Old West are two different things.
The short Colts were very common indeed -- the SAA was a carry gun, and then as now, a lot of people liked a short, light gun when they carried 24/7.
