I picked up my "new" KY Imports police trade in 4053 this morning. It`s nice and tight and doesn`t look like it`s had many rounds through it. The exterior has some light blemishes on the stainless slide but the aluminum frame is still very nice. A little elbow grease and a very fine scotchbrite pad removed 90% of the marks. It looks pretty darn nice now. The night sights aren`t super super bright but they`re more than usable. I had already swung by Wally world and picked up a 100rd. value pack of 165gr. .40 S&W and some 135gr. Triton from another shop so I headed for the range to try it out. Now let me preface this by saying the range is outdoors and it was VERY COLD, VERY WINDY and I was shooting standing in ankle deep snow. All shooting was done while wearing gloves. I loaded up some 165gr.s and got down to business. Well sorta,in my zeal to pickup the gun I forgot my range bag and targets so I had to shoot at old targets that were still up and clumps of dirt on the backstop. Doh! The DAO trigger is OUTSTANDING. The pull is very short for DA and the pull feels like about 6lbs. It may be heavier but it feels lighter in part (I think) because it starts farther back in the trigger guard and gives the trigger finger better leverage. Think Glock but smoother, slightly longer and no sproingy feeling. Ergonomics are very good and it points dead on for me.
Despite the artic condition the first mag full grouped easily into 3" at 15yds. After putting a few more mags through it I found it easy to keep the groups that size at 25yds. and some groups were smaller. On a decent day I `m sure it (and I) will do better. One downside,165gr. loads print about 2" low at 25yds. Not a huge deal, the 135gr. Tritons were just about dead on. Controlability was excellent. Much better than I expected. Double taps were fast and easy. I love this thing already! If you`ve been thinking for getting a police trade in like this don`t wait,go for it. Marcus

The first TSW's (3913 / 3953, 4013 / 4053 & 4513 / 4553) ...

... that came out were little gems. Which is why I stocked up on a couple of them in each caliber. Glad you like the new addition to your family.
