Interesting. Looks like a redesigned Sigma. I'm loving the "Self defense pistol" name. :D

No 357 Sig?? Won't be interested than.

It looks like an improvement over the Sigma series hopefully S&W was smart and did not bless it with that suckey Sigma trigger. In fact if S&W were smart and did it right they would use the M&P trigger design and parts.

That way you could do the $30 M&P Apex Hard Sear trick and actually end up with a usable trigger in the end.

If the trigger is good, and the price is right, this will be a good gun. The grip angle is near the Steyr. I always thought the grip on the SIGMA was decent. S&W also has GREAT CS.

Looks like they combined both the Sigma and the M&P. It has the M&P trigger guard, Sigma-ish frame, and M&P-ish slide. So I am guessing this will replace the Sigma line then?

are they really able to price this far enough from the M&P to make target a different market segment or are we looking at a price jump of their flagship line?

does the fixed backstrap save that much in cost over the interchangeable ones?

The advertisement says "SDT Trigger, optimal consistent pull from first round to last". I hope this means this will not have the same trigger pull as the Sigma. Honestly, I can't imagine them not addressing this issue considering it seems like the main problem people have with the Sigma line. But, I am still a noob shooter, so what do I know.

lets like a decently improved sigma...however I still would rather get an M&P.

if they fix the trigger... they got a buyer here ;)

i love the sigma, in fact i own both 9 and 40, but if they lower the triger pull some... then i'll own this Sigma Military Police ... i mean SDP ;)

"Textured finger locator" .... Hey they stole my idea! Years ago I had my smith dimple the round part of the slide stop on my 1911 for the same purpose.

Why the hate?

If they fixed the sigma trigger, its reliable and priced NEAR the sigma (at least a good chunk lower then the M&P), and it uses a standardized rail, then what is there to hate?

And i like the Tritium front sight, And the slide serrations are growing on me too

I think this could be a big seller!

you don't HONESTLY think this is your idea?

So...it's an M&P slide and trigger mated to the sigma grip with new texture.... hopefully the tritium won't push it into the M&P price range, it'd be freaking awesome to see a sigma priced gun that brings tritium to the party.

Well, on another forum it's listed that the Trigger pull is 8lbs

So according to listings

Sigma- 14 lbs

Glock 19- 5.5 lbs

Looks promising

Easy brother... Its called sarcasm. As Foghorn Leghorn would say- "Its a joke son, a joke, dont'cha get it?"
