I liked the way my S&W 36 handled with the old-style grips and an adapter, so I decided to do the same for my 640. Waited and waited and waited for the grips to come back in stock, ordered them the split second they did, and they arrived today from my buddies at Midway. Without a screw. The screw on the original grips is a different diameter, of course. Why, I oughtta...

Thanks for letting me whine. I feel better now.

Oh yeah, and some of those older style grip screws can be a pain in the rear to track down sometimes. I resorted to e-bay to find some NOS ones.

I've got a few extras now, even in sizes I don't currently have any use for. The screw was cheap, shipping wasn't so I ordered enough to make it worth it.

Also, something I appreciate is Altamont and Arhends both supply screws (Altamont usually ships a couple)

The magna grips sold by Smith and Wesson and Midway are made by Altamont. I've had great customer service experiences with them; give them a call and I imagine they'll take care of it right away.
