Saw this at the range counter this weekend. I am tempted to buy it for my daughter. Anyone shoot it? I am particularly interested whether it is ammo sensitive like the Sig Mosquito pistol. TIA.

Darn, just realized this got posted on Handguns category - Did a search on rifle category and found some posts.

Moderator, can you delete this thread? Thanks!

I love my 522 Classic, and for $299 brand new what is not to love!

The first day I took it out I ran over 400 rounds through it using a mix of ammo and only a couple times did a round not go off and I can chalk that up to the ammo not the gun.

I also felt like since I already owned a 556 Classic why not own a 522 Classic as well!

My wife and I have a pair of the standard SIG 522, one with a 3x9 scope, the other with a red dot and neither is ammo sensitive as far as I can tell. We shoot mostly the cheap Federal bulk pack from Walmart and neither gives us any trouble beyond the occasional dud round (but way less often than when using the same ammo in a pistol).

The CMMG & Blackdog AR22 25 round mags work great. We've a pair of the Blackdog 50 round drums and both drums work fine in one rifle, in the other one of the drums seems to prevent the bolt from going fully closed about one in ten shots (seems random) leading to unstruck rims, the other drum functions fine so there is some tolerance stack up somewhere I haven't figured out yet.

All and all we are very happy with these.
