Just bought a brand new Sig Sauer P239 in .40 S&W, my favorite SD round. It is an exceptional firearm in my short experience with it (about 400 rounds now over the past two days without one malfunction, misfire or misfeed). 7 + 1 rounds of .40 S&W Gold Dot Hollow Point Personal Protection with an extra magazine holding 7 rounds. The night sights are great, very similar to my Ed Brown Kobra Carry 1911 night sights. The SA trigger is smooth and crisp with an excellent hammer. I carry with one in the chamber and in DA with the stronger trigger pull. Each shot after the first is in SA. It is a great pistol and although it is a little pricey, IMO it is an excellent choice as a CCW.

Maybe an ankle holster? What good makers and models are there?

Very nice. I have the exact same gun (same grips too) and have been carrying it almost every day lately. It makes a great CCW.

Nice gun! The Sig P239 has always been a gun I've wanted to buy. I looove Sig's SA trigger, but I think if I got the P239, it would be the SAS w/ the DAK trigger. I'd replace the wood grips with the grips you have, since they are thinner.

Do the .40s&w models have a thicker slide than the 9mm? I looked at a 9mm once and compared it to a glock 19 (which I happen to own). The slide was exactly the same width as the 19, which is rather thin compared to other guns (ie USP,XD,M&P). The waistline of the gun by the control levers gets a little fatter, but then it slims down again for the grip due to the single-stack design. These are good dimensions for IWB carry, but I'm just curious if the .40 model is any fatter than the 9mm.

Just bought one in 9mm, and love it. Don't have it in my hands yet, but have put about 300 rounds through a different one, with no problems. Not a carry gun for me due to CA, but I have small hands, and the gf feels comfortable with it as well, she actually picked it.

Check out Galco for the ankle holster. A great holster for my P239 although I will say that the gun is on the upper edge of being too big for the ankle. Congrats on the new Sig, Bill

i've got another 2 weeks until my paperwork comes through, but when it does, i'll be picking up my 239 9mm with nite sites.
