I bought a stainless Buckmark Camper 3-4 years ago, not knowing then that the rear sight base is made of plastic. I don't know that that would have affected my decision to buy it, as I really like the Buckmark design and I particularly liked the Camper's barrel contour and grips. Anyway, after I heard about the plastic part, I thought little of it since I've probably put no more than 1,000 rounds through the gun and have never removed the sight base for any reason.
Well... This Saturday I put about 75 rounds through my Camper, and afterward I could tell that the rearmost portion of the sight base is definitely cracked. So, now that this plastic chicken has come home to roost, I'd like to replace the sight base with something made of metal.
After checking some, I see that a Browning Buckmark Standard alloy base can be bought for only about $15. The problem is that the Camper's rear sight won't fit the alloy base, which means I'd have to buy a new rear sight assembly and the pin to attach it. In short, the total replacement would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $85.
One alternative is to get a Tactical Solutions Buckmark railed sight base with integral sights.

After shipping, the cost would be closer to $75, but at least the setup would be preassembled and I'd later have the rail if I ever want it. I've seen lots of positive feedback for Tactical Solutions, but most of the kudos are for their barrels. Can anyone here comment on the Buckmark sight rail? I'm especially interested in the quality of the integral sights, since I prefer irons to optics on handguns (and usually rifles, too). Are the sights adjustable for windage and elevation? Are they compatible with my existing Buckmark front sight? Finally, are they as good as or better than the stock Buckmark rear sights?
Thanks for everyone's help!
