Disclaimer: This may be seen as an advertisement which essentially it is. I know the Microsight guy and worked in a small part in the development of that sight. I will receive nothing from the sale of these sights.

There is a new sight being introduced in January that some service rifle shooters may be interested in. It's called the Microsight.

The Microsight allows a clear crisp front sight AND target. You don't have to compromise by accepting a fuzzy target to have a crisp front sight. All you need is good or corrected distance vision and the sight does the rest.

It works by using Phased Zone Plate technology to focus light into two focal lengths, front sight and target.

I've used one and it works as advertised. It ain't cheap but it's the best sight picture I've seen in years with a service rifle.

A google search will turn up info on the sight and background info on the technology. There is a good youtube video out there with the guy who invented the lens.

Mr. Roark,
I believe this product is what I have seen on the National Match forum. Sounds good, "just what the doctor ordered".
What difference has it made in your score? I would imagine it helps with eyestrain.
IIRC the aperature is a rectangle and the rectangle may be oriented at at angle for optimal sight picture.
Thanks for bringing it up.

Yes, it's the same sight you've seen on NM.

I haven't shot SR in two years and when I used the sight last month I shot a 771, almost shot my card. Another shooter used the sight in a 3x600 and had very good results at the end of the day as far as vision and score goes. He has had Lasik and said that until he used this sight he has realized that he has never seen a crisp post before.

The rectangular aperture is another sight that hasn't been approved for CMP competition. I don't understand why not.

Well, if I had clicked on the link . . . . The pics on the site do look impressive.
