I've always CC'd 'Mexican' and prefer the safety of the DA/SA as opposed to SA that the Colt only affords (considering one in the pipe pointed at my 'boys').

So decided today to sell (shortly) my two Colt Series 70s and go with a new Sig 220 Elite in .45

Also brought home a new P229 9mm Elite in DA/SA to replace the Beretta Cougar (also shortly).

I think you'll experience some real freedom if/when you decide to carry in a good holster. They require no conscious attention the way mexican style often does.

One other thing: an accidental discharge from an IWB on one's hip does a lot less damage than an accidental discharge in your particular situation.

Maybe in winter its easier to wear a holster but please understand here in the People's Republic of Northern VA, folks tend to freak out seeing a buldge sticking out the back of your tee shirt.

Also, I ride my Harley alot and there's no way to hide a CC unless its sitting in the crux of your crotch.

Its just the way it is (for me).

Maybe I'll keep my Colts. I do like them VERY much.

I live in noVA and it is far from being a "People's Republic"...go live in NJ or NY and then compare noVA to a People's Republic....

It is true that a outside the waistband holster is more secure, but it does appear rather conspicuous, and many people, regardless of where you are, do become concerned when it is obvious someone is carrying a firearm. And a jacket in warm weather does look suspicious. Have you looked at inside the waistband holsters? They offer a lot more concealment and aren't bad to wear if you buy a nice one.

Are you carrying mexican style or plaxico burress style?

Check out crossbreedholsters.com they sell a holster called the qwikclip I believe that is good for appendix IWB.

Also, check out smartcarry.com ...they have a good product as well.

In my experience, I've found that (1) people are so blamed oblivious they don't even notice and (2) even if they notice a bulge, nowadays they assume it's some sort of phone or something.

That being said, by all means carry the way you like. I just feel like you may be sacrificing a little of your safety and I'd hate to see you get injured.
