Well, this thread:

http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=146958

Finally pushed me over the edge and I decided to get some new lighter springs for my Taurus Tracker. After sending an email to Wolff, they stated that while they don’t have an example of the Tracker frame, customers tell them that the springs for the large frame Taurus revolvers work in the compact frames.

I ordered a spring kit that came with three hammer springs 10, 11, and 12 pound hammer springs and two trigger return springs, 10 and 11 pounds. All for just over $10, and I received them Monday after ordering them on the previous Friday.

The only difference between the factory and the Wolff springs is that they trigger return spring is about a coil longer on the Wolff. This does not seem to be an issue, being that the spring installed fine.

The factory standard springs are 14 for hammer and 15 for trigger, so I went to work and replaced the trigger with the 11 pound spring and the hammer with the 10 pound spring. Reassembled, and what can I say. Wow comes to mind. Not only is the trigger about half of the poundage that it used to be, but it also feels smoother with no build.

I have a couple hundred rounds of CCI Blazer 357mag, known for their hard primers, sitting on my desk at home. I will be going to the range soon to make sure that the gun is still light strike free. If I have any problems, I will let you know.

Where did you get the springs? Straight from Wolf? How is the gun running now?

Thanks,

Fezwig
