I love my .25-06 even though it isn't a 24" and only a 22" it still kills good with 115 grain BT. I am working up a a 100 grain BT, and I also want to shoot the 90 grain spire point.

The rifle is an Marlin XL7. I dislike the stock very much. Feels like a cheap kids toy. To replace it, I ordered a Boyds Prairie Hunter in Pepper Laminate.

I plan to glass bed the action also, and we'll see how that goes.

If it's anything like the JRS classic I got from Boyd's, you'll need to bed it to get it to fit right. It's worth the effort though. That stock is such an improvement over the factory stock on my Savage 110 that it's like shooting a completely different rifle.

Received the stock yesterday. Same day I got home from the hospital. I haven't taken pics, but I put the gun into its new home.

The Boyds stock sure did add some weight to the rifle. The rifle fits pretty well now, but I do need to sand some before I bed the receiver. All in all I am happy with the stock.

Still no pics, sorry, but I shot it this weekend, and wow!
Now the xl7 doesn't jump, and I can keep my target in the scope. Very nice. I like this change, and recommend it for any marlin bolt owner.

At 200 yards I was under moa with factory Remington 100 grain soft points.
