Ok I decided on a previous post I had made and bought the TC Venture in 30-06. I got scope mounted and cleaned it up ready to sight it in
At this point It hasn't been shot yet. I just got it out to show my buddy and worked the bolt and dry fired it. As I was talking to him I was holding the rifle and working the bolt. As I was doing this I felt a grinding in the bolt as I pushed it down after cycling it. If I lift the bolt and close it I feel the grinding and can hear it. Almost like gears. After a few lifts and close it quits until i cycle it all way back and forward and kick down. Then as I sing lift and close the grinding starts again. Working it and listening it sounds like it's coming up in chamber area where the lugs are engaging. Problem is I believe once the lugs are engaged, just simply lifting the bolt and closing shouldnt be disengaging the lugs so what could it be turning making this noise and any ideas what it is?
