Hey,I,m a new member and I just plain like to hunt and shoot and talk about it with other hunters and shooters.I,m also a bow hunter and love it.Got bit by the black powder bug a couple of years ago and really enjoy it,I like the traditional ML and started with a .50 Hawken.Just ordered a .54 Plains rifle.Any suggestions from anyone.I like to shoot a patched ball.

Front stuffer shooting is one of my favorites too .. i`m a member of 2 black powder clubs in my area and do 2 shoots a month rain or shine .. gotta luv it . The old hands at the clubs are very helpful to newbies , its a great sport and very rewarding .. i even got the wife into the club shoots .. she`s gotten so good i`d just carry her bag and watch her shoot .. ya might check your area for some club shoots .. great bunch of people to hang with .

Ain`t it though ! and the new guns never stop comming on the little brown trucks .. :D

hey, thanks for the reply.Yea you gotta love those little brown trucks, and a new rifle delivered right to your door.Plenty of room here to tromp around and shoot and hunt.Have some hogs spotted close by,gonna try that .54 on em when it gets hear.Found the .50 ball a little bit light, bullets worked ok though.Any thoughts or suggestions.

Yep i love my 54 round ball for hunting ..it was over kill at the target matches .. but my favorite Hawken .. when ya get it.. do alot of testing at the 75 to 100 yard range ...there`s a big difference in the 54 over the 50 you`ll have to get use to . the drop difference is in inches .. check her out , you`ll adjust . ( know your waiting on the little brown truck ) :D

New rifle arrived yesterday afternoon,I got it cleaned and put together last night. It looks great, but the finish on the barrel could be better.Gonna light it up tommorrow, and see what it can do.Good shootin to everyone!

Im headed out to the Southeastern Rendezvous up in TN. tomorrow ... 7 days and nights of mountain campin ,campfire cookin , black powder burnin and good ole boys and gals ... should be a hoot and a hollar .. i`m uasually a third place shooter but the wife is a first place against the women uasually .. so she should enjoy too .. trying to convience her to leave the hair dryer at home .. is another story ... you`all hold down the fort while i`m gone .. :D

now ya need REVOLVERS!!!!!

I never thought I had a use for handguns. I like rifles, and i like marksmanship.. but.. handguns.. nah

Then I went down the range and one of the nice people let me try his Colt 1860 Army. Addicted in 30 seconds.

Last weekend at the local CAS meeting, I was trying to get them to do more "Frontiersman" games. The smell of a few C&B revs going off is a delight. Watching the Ruger shooters have kittens at the noise is pure evil...

I need a Remmie
