We had a rare windless day this past Friday, so I took the opportunity (and a few hours leave) to try and make my final decision between the two top performing loads in this rifle. I love this rifle, it is pretty easily the most accurate and consistent rifle I've ever owned, so I figured i'd post up another update in case anyone is thinking about picking up their own CTR. Results below:

In this first photo, the one low shot was all me, I felt myself pull it right as the shot went off... one of those "Boom.. Dangit!" situations.

I think I must have changed the stock's position on my shoulder after the first two.... usually when I see two distinct but tight groupings, my crappy shooting, and not the gun or load is to blame.

It looks like i'm going to have to work up another batch of both loads to do another round of testing, 43.5gr was better at 100 yds, but 44gr was better at 200 yds, plus I don't really have enough samples to make a clear determination on either. Either way, if anyone is thinking about picking up one of these new CTR's I'd say go for it, this one is quickly becoming one of my favorite rifles.

Yessiree - the more I shoot mine, the more I like it. :D

I shot these 3-shot 100 yard groups earlier today. What's notable is that this was my first attempt at this particular load - a 130gr Berger VLD over H4350. Even better than my earlier load with SMKs. I have to shoot more rounds with this load, of course, but I'm encouraged.

I have had a Tikka T3 lite in stainless steal 7-08. The two sight in groups I shot were .57 and .61 at 100 yards.
