Yesterday I picked up a copy of Guns and Weapons for Law Enforcement, and was very impressed with one of the featured rifles. The Tikka CTR was given an in-depth review, where everything was covered in detail. The author said that he shot a truly personal-best 3-shot group with it, and was actually so impressed with the rifle that he admitted that he would be purchasing it after the testing. He showed his shooting results, and they were extremely impressive considering the optic he was using. Unfortunately the full review is not available online, but I can give you a taste: http://www.tactical-life.com/online/guns-and-weapons/tikka-t3-scout-ctr-308/?hp=exclusives_title

Here's the Beretta page: http://www.berettausa.com/products/tikka-t3-scout-ctr/default.aspx

The author was obviously quite pleased. The ONLY gripe that he had with it was the magazine: he reported that it was a little flimsy, even though he didn't encounter any reliability issues. This is quite minor when you consider the price of the rifle.

I am considering purchasing this rifle myself. What do you gentlemen think?

Tikka's are great rifles and know for accuracy. My two gripes with them are the Magazine, which is expensive and somewhat hard to find, and the single action length, a cost saving measure.

I can get by the magazine issue, but I truly wish they would make a short action rifle..

Other than those two small things, they are great.

I have one in .223 and it is a great rifle. It is light, accurate, great trigger for a factory, has detachable mags and a nice stock. The recoil lug (or lack of) is the only criticism of this rifle (actually all the Tikka series) but it only is an issue in the Magnum calibers I've read on occasion. For a packing rifle in non magnum rifle I think they are great for the price.

First time post and glad to be here!
I just bougt the Tikka Scout in 308 (Last one at Buds gun shop)
I have ordered a millett TRS-1 Mil/Mil Scope.
My question is what size (hieght) 30mm rings should I get. I obviously want the mount as low as posssible.

I know I love mine.. Anybody else pick one of these up? Might shoot some new groups next weekend

I love mine. This is a picture of a 5 round group from 200 yards. I was using walmart bought blue box federal 150 Grain soft point.
