My local gun shop had a Springfield 1911 Ronin in 10mm that I decided that I needed to have. $820. I did some research and posted on another forum if there was any reason not to buy the SA or if there was another option to consider.
Someone mentioned a Tisas D10. What? Never heard of it. Turns out, Tisas is a Turkish gun manufacturer that produces some very good quality 1911s for way below typical value. They use all forged parts and the performance, fit and finish, and overall value is amazing.
I found one on clearance from Palmetto State Armory for $599 and ordered it. Already ordered a Tripp Research 9-round mag for it as well. Really looking forward to getting it in and evaluating it. Absolutely did not need it as I already had woods carry well covered with a Glock G29 and XDM Elite OSP in 10mm that both hold 1 round and 2 rounds more, respectively, at a much lighter weight and incredible accuracy and reliability.
But, I had 3 1911s. A Colt custom build in .45 ACP, a Remington R1 Limited Match in .40 S&W, and a Kimber Custom Carry II in .45 ACP. A full-size 10mm seemed like a natural addition to the stable.
