I've pretty well decided on a T/C Impact. Plan to put a vintage Redfield 2x7 Widefield on it......for now. Any thoughts on this combination?

More importantly, I'm looking for some step- by-step resources for getting started with blackpowder. Loads, Loading, cleaning, maintenance etc. For my 50 year old brain simpler is better to start out.

Thanks.

The first place to start is by reading the TC Impact owner's manual which contains a lot of useful information.

The main concern about the choice of scope is whether it affords enough eye relief to avoid "scope eye" during the recoil of firing it. Many muzzle loader/shotgun scopes provide an extra inch of eye relief which is usually about 4 inches or more. However that decision is based on personal choice and how the entire rig fits the shooter.

Iam sure that the TC will give ya a good hunt have you given much thought to which propellent youre going to use . I tried the IMR White Hots & loved them . REMEMBER TO ALWAYS BE CAREFULL & NEVER NEVER USE NO AMOUNT OF MODERN SMOKLESS POWDER IN A BLACKPOWDER GUN . Here is a link to show what happens if some one ever did http://www.cva.com/dangerous-loading-practices.php
