Don - thx for the feedback on technique. One or two ploys there sound worth experimenting with ... looks like we both use similar basic approaches ... I always use f11 for max DoF and exp usually runs .5 to 1.5 .. also. Tripod and release too - of course.

I think the one thing I have not experimented with is this ceiling bounce - I just use a very improvized light tent - and my lighting position choices are very limited because they go where I can clip em on (book shelves etc!).

Thx again. :)

Thanks DHart

DHart,

Thanks for the words and I am not really concerned if anyone else likes the modifications or not. I saw the revolver and really liked it. The gentleman I got it from was honest and told me that with the modifications to the sights the revolver would lose it's value to collectors.

Hey that is fine with me because I have no intention of selling it. I am legally blind in my right eye and the rear sights help me align with the target. I have shot it and it is very easy and fast for me to get my sight picture and the porting makes for quick second shots do to recoil reduction.

I will admit it is load very load. The guy next to me asked me what the he** was I shooting!!

i am happy with what I have and I do really like the non modified look too.

Who says I can't have one of each!!!!!!!!!!.

Gary

Gary... you got it my man... if it serves you better than it did before, that's what you need. And yes, now you have an excuse to get another one "for collector value". ;)

Don, I got my 686+ yesterday... wow, oh, WOW! Gonna have to wait on pics; it's snowing and terrible here. I'll get some, and start a new thread with them.
