Where the Corps takes me
So after my Kahr (Model TP9) decided to throw it's extractor ~500rds into its life, I fixed it and away it went, leaving me with just the Springer CCO .45, BHP, and Block 19 (is that a typo?) for concealed duty. This past weekend, I was shopping with a female friend for her CCW when we came across this little number. It was as light as my BHP and balanced like it, but was nearly the size of of the Glock 19. Since my Beretta 92FS (Fat Boy) always goes to the range with me, it was a natural progression to go with the 92FS Type L for the CCW line-up.

My second job is working part time at a range/shop, so I showed up tonight 30min early and put a box of Blazer 115gr downrange on a B29 (25rds at 7yds, 25 at 10yds). I wasn't going for accuracy, just a fam-fire, but this beaut is a laser!

The course of fire was 10 groups of 5 shots, 1 in DA and 4 in SA (you can tell the DA shots as they aren't all in the fist-sized hole). The hammer spring is getting a coil or two snipped off and non-skid tape applied this weekend and I hope to put another 200 or so rounds through the Compact (aka Little Man)

Alas! Pics!

I love to tinker and add my own touch to each firearm, so subtle Inox details are incoming (trigger, hammer, mag catch, etc) and should be completed by July 1st.

Regards,
Lucky

I regret selling my 92FS Compact and I would like to get another one, or a type M. I love my full size 92FS and I carry a M9 every day. I shoot expert every year and I give the pistol most of the credit for that.

BTW, your links are broken.

The Berettas get a lot of bad press from some folks but I carried one in the Marine Corps and it was so smooth, accurate, and reliable. I had NO issues with it at all. It is a large gun and I have short fingers but the M9 never made me feel like I was compromising.

I learned to love the 92 in the Corps as well and while it lacks the ergos of the the BHP or CZ-75 (and clones), it is a darn accurate gun. And everyone knows accurate guns are the most fun. :D

For a "fighting gun" (ie defensive pistol), there are better choices but that's the beauty of choice (so long as the gun never bobbles and you can hit your target with consistency).

Lucky

So after installing a D Spring I found in my Box'o'Parts, I ran another 210 rounds (100 Blazer 115gr, 100 4.2gr TiteGroup under 125gr LRN, 10 100gr PowerBall) through the little (haha) 92 Compact this afternoon. The Blazer I used to repeat the above course of fire and the second hundred to do presentations to hammer pairs, controlled pairs, and failure drills between 3 and 10yds. With the last 10 I did single head shots at 15yds on the B29 targets (dropped the 1st 2 as the POI was different than the other ammo. Anyone else have this happen?).

The gun continues to amaze me. The recoil is slightly more than the full-size but the balance and recovery is just great. I do have a single, nagging question:

Why did Beretta stop importing this gun?!
