Went to the gunshop today and was checking out all of the 1911's he had. He finally said that was it. I looked at the shelf, and asked what was in the blue plastic case. He pulled it out and it said Colt. He opened it up and inside was a LNIB blued ORM 1991A1 with Colt faux ivory grips with medallions. Looked it over real good, didn't appeared to have ever been shot. It was fit a little tighter than my NRM stainless gov't model, no slide overhang. It was PERFECT. Bought it for $349. Took it to the range, Shot 100 rounds without any problems. I think I made out on this.

I like my ORM 1991A1 too. I have Spegal grips on mine. It has performed flawlessly for years. I think you did great on the price. Mine has the plastic trigger. Is the one you bought plastic or Videcki aluminum?

It might not qualify for "deal of the century", since there is always someone out there who got the same gun for $100 less! But you definitely did not get taken!!! I would not hesitate to plunk down $350 for a Colt 1991 unless it had serious problems. Most of the used Colts I see go for about $450 and up. Good deal on a good gun, enjoy!!

It has the plastic trigger. But seemed good enough to use for now. Like I said, I couldn't find any evidence of the gun being shot. So I basically paid $349 for a new Colt.

Seems like a great deal to me. I have two ORMs and I think both of them are great. (My NRM is not too shabby either).
