Well I find myself in possession of a Dan Wesson 14-2 snubbie.

Seems to be about the same size as a S&W 19 (which is what I was looking for when I found the DW).

Real nifty gun.

Here's a pic:

I need to get my hands on a second grip so I can modify it, I'm thinking I want something like this (I wish wood and steel were as easy to modify as pixels):

Check Ebay and GB for grips. Hogue makes blanks I think. I know you'll be very happy with that DW revolver. Also if you want information regarding that gun go to: www.danwessonforum.com and you'll find nice people that have the best knowledge base on Dan Wesson Revolvers.

So now where am I gonna find leather for this thing?
(I'm picky about leather ... no one-size-fits-all crap ... and for the love of God no Uncle Mike's Nylon).

Don't bypass hogues rubber grips for comfort while shooting . Them wood grips are purdy but hard to hang on to with full house loads. Nice gun anyhow. Just match holsters (soft or leather) to the mid-frame s&w guns, thats what i did.

I have a 14-2 as well. Takes K frame speedloaders and most k-frame holsters will fit. I have mine in a Safariland 586 holster. It's a nice fit plus it's a paddle so it's easy on/off for idpa

Did a bunch of measurements and stuff so soon I should be able to start the grip mods ... once it gets warm enough to spend more than 5 minutes in the garage at a time :p

However, I got to thinking ... since my original plan was to pick up a nice vintage S&W Model 19 and putting a set of Magnas and a Tyler T-Grip on it when this DW jumped into my lap, I'm wondering if I couldn't make a set of these grips work with a modified S&W K-Frame Tyler T.

Sortta like this (more photoshop gunsmithing)

Not 100% sure how I'll affix the T grip to the grip (since the Dan Wesson grip is completely different from S&W, Colt, et al). At first I was thinking maybe dremmeling a couple of groves into the front of the grip for the tabs on the T grip and epoxying it into place, but now I'm thinking just remove the tabs from the T grip, drill a hole in the widest, flattest part of the T grip and countersinking a screw into it.

Anyway, should be fun either way.

If you do make a set of grips for them, let me know.

Good luck on boring that square hole for the tang. Also, don't tighten it too much, or it'll cause the cylinder to lock up.

Get the undercover walnut grip and give it a try. You may forget about thinking you need the T-grip. My undercover walnut fits my hand just fine. Most of the time it wears a Pachmayr (or Hogue, I forget) and the 4" barrel.
