Friday I picked up a slightly used remington/spartan gunworks spr 210 SxS in 12 gauge. I've had good luck with baikal products in the past and this one is no different. Fit and finish while not perfect are exceptional for a $350 double in my opinion. I really like the single selective trigger, and the fact that it's compatible with tru chokes. It came to me with only full, and modified choke tubes and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it has auto ejectors. I shot one round of trap with it friday night and busted 22/25 with the full ckoke, which is better than I normally do with either my remington 1100 classic trap or my dads browning citori xt trap. For now this one has found a nice place in my collection for a plinking shotgun, and the occassional round of trap. There just something about the sleek look of a SxS that makes me feel the need for at least one.

Wow I was in the lgs today figuring up component prices and I can pretty much buy a case of cheap shells cheaper than I can load them. I guess that old mec reloader that hasn't seen use in 2 years is gonna get boxed back up.

Congrats on the new gun.

Reloading isn't only about the cost. Being able to tailor a nice light 7/8 or 3/4 oz target load is why I load the 12 ga. Shooting bulk pack target loads kicks the crap out of me any more.

I have the same gun except mine has 20" barrels and extractors. I shot about fifty rounds through it yesterday loaded with 3/4" oz of shot using the .75 oz claybuster wad. It's loads of fun with those lite loads.

I don't do any trap, skeet,or sporting clays shooting (other than the occassional backyard trap shooting), and I don't hunt therefore it doesn't benefit me to tailor my own loads, when I can buy winchester super target loads for $40-$45 a case. Now I reload all of my rifle and pistol ammo because I can do it for 2/3 to 3/4 the cost of factory, and that allows me to shoot quite a bit more often.

I don't reload shot shells except for 10 gauge. Saves me money, believe it or not, on T steel 3.5" 10 gauge and gives me the ability to load other loads than steel T and turkey, which is all I can ever find in 10 guage.

Anyway, I have a Spartan SPR220 20 gauge 20" gun with extractors which is a dove killin' machine. It's my favorite dove gun. I've had to shim it best I can to get the drop a little lower and get the cast out of it as I shoot left handed. Fit wasn't the best out of the box, but I had a need for the gun and figured I'd work with it. It has become my favorite bird gun excluding waterfowl and I keep it by the bed with 3 buck loaded.
