    Hello everyone,
This is officially my first post after browsing through the forums for a few weeks. Tons of useful information in here; I find myself looking through here on my free time as much as possible.
I just went to a gun show this past weekend and bought a Mosin Nagant 91/30 to add to my collection...which sadly enough, only consists of 3 guns: yugo sks 59/66, ruger mk2 target model, and the 91/30. I still cant figure out if I want a cz-p01 (if i can find one) or an xd40 for my ccw. Obviously that includes the choice of 9mm or .40 cal.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi to all and thanks for all the great info on here.

    Regards,
    Quinten

Welcome, I'm fairly new and just, actually, purchased a CZ 75 and I love it. I'm actually tempted to pick up a CZ 40 as well becuase they're so cheap.

Nothing sad about that. Sounds like a good start to me. Lets just say you are at the top of a very slippery slope.......enjoy the slide.

BTW, new guy pays for ammo.

I get cases of .22lr free. That's what happens when your best friend runs a gun shop and you fill in for him on occasion. Of course, I go through more 9mm and .300WSM than .22lr, but hey. Never look a gift horse in the ... ummm.. which end was it?

BTW, welcome, Q-Lock. I could use some .300wsm for my collection...

Welcome! Have fun with that Nagant, and if you feel you need to expand your search for the CZ, check out http://www.gunbroker.com or any number of other auction and internet gun sales sites. A search should yield a few more.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

As for choosing the CCW piece...I'm leaning toward the CZ in terms of feel and looks (it just feels so much better than the XD in my hand). I've only held the RAMI 9mm in person before though and I love the way it feels but i'm also interested in the cz compact .40 cal. Now i just have to find a place to rent them so I can test out my theories. 9mm or .40.....i just cant decide.

As for the ammo purchases for everyone...let me get back to you about that :D

Welcome to The High Road, Quinten! Nothing sad about three guns. Heck, there are fewer than 300 million guns in the United States as of last year—that's fewer than one for every man, woman and child in the country. You've got three—you're ahead!

On that NGBTA thing: cheap 12-ga. practice ammo or a brick of .22LR will do nicely, thanks. ;)

Oh, and Berek—I really wouldn't recommend looking in either end. You're welcome.

    Q-Lock,
Bingo. Choose the one that you shoot best. But you knew that. Again, welcome.
