I was at the local gun shop today and found a lil one I just had to adopt! Apparantly, they are X-police firearms or some such surplus as it is used or at least has a good bit of holster wear. Tis a Star BM. It is an all steel semiauto in 9mm-single stack. It is about exactly the size of my Colt Officers Model but thinner. It locks up, takes down, etc like the 1911. Has a external extractor, thumb safety but no grip safety but does have a magazine disconnect safety.

Ran 50 rounds through it without the slightest hesitation. Seems to shoot quite well but a little high.

Anybody got any history on these and what is their reputation for reliability and for holding up? I may want to carry the lil thing some since it is so flat. Couldn't pass it up for under 2 c-notes and I like it much better than a Mac since it is not blowback and is a full 9mm, not 380.

Thanks for any info you might have for me.

A Spanish pistol that has been on the surplus market for years. The company had a wide selection of pistols, but closed it's doors back in the mid 1990s.
It is a well made psitol which is somewhat seeing a resurgence here lately. I wouldn't stress it with hot loads, but it is a good service pistol.

I have two of these. One is my New Oreans Pimp Gun that rides under the arm rest in my Cadillac Sedan D'Elegence. It is hard chrome with Mother of Plastic White Pearl Grips with the Start Logo on them. The other is like yours that was about $150.00 out the door with an extra mag and I got to hand pick it out of a dozen or more at J&G Sales. I tuned them both and they run flawless. They will take any kind of hot ammo as they were amde to shoot machine gun ammo so you can't hurt them. I use Fed Premium Hydra Shok in mine. Great little guns! My buddie Leo has one also and ran 150 through it after I tweaked it and he loves his. I carried a BKM as a back up in the old days when I was On The Job in Trinidad, CO. It woulf do a nice keyhole at 25 yards that I admired!
