Just got my STI Lawman. This is the early LSA version, before STI stamped all those ugly letters on the slide.

Bought it used with about 500 rounds through it. Originally a fixed sight gun but the previous owner bought a STI adjustable and mounted it. Trigger breaks like glass with no overtravel. Have no idea about the trigger weight but its light enough for me.

It has some slight wear on the finish because of a Fobus plastic holster:cuss: But its not that bad.. Cant really complain because i bought it for almost half the retail price. Nice clean classic 1911 looks. Just like i want:)

Havent been able to test it for precision yet.. But i fired about 150 rounds through it last saturday and it worked like a charm. The load i used was 6.2gr N340 behind a 230gr lead RN with Starline cases.

Looks great. What type of grips is that?
I'm like you, I'm not too fond of the huge rollmarks STI uses noe days.

Congrats :)

very nice

That is a fine looking 1911! And it sounds like more than a few folks agree about the huge rollmarks on the currents STI line - I find them unsightly, as well.

Thanks:)

Those grips are the original Lawman grips. They are plastic grips with a sand like feel to them. Combined with the checkering infront and back on the grip frame it feels like the gun is glued to your hand:)

Nice gun. Too bad about the holster wear.
What did you pay for it (hope you don't mind the question)?

Well this is Norway.. I payed the equiliant of $1450 for it. The retail here in Norway is $2500.. It might sound outrageous to you but thats really cheap here in Norway for that kind of gun. Just as an example the STI Spartan has a retail at about $1070;)

Regarding the holster wear it really doesnt bother me all that much. It would bother me alot more if I personally made all those scratches:D

Yeah. Im used to Ruger revolvers and their "Manual" engraved on the barrel..... I have a friend who owns a STI Trojan.. And that gun is just down right ugly compared to mine:D One thing is that horrible text.. Another thing is that ugly big grip lines at the back and front of the slide that STI now uses.. Atleast on this one it it is thin narrow ones. If it was up to me i would have eliminated the ones at the front. Whats the use of those anyway?

So I have to ask, what are gun laws like in Norway?

Thats really a tricky question to answer.

The short version is that you have to be a member of an organization with the right competition programs which the guns are legal for.

This 1911 is registered for Military Field Target under the standard NSF (Norwegian Shooters Forbund/Associtation)

My Ruger New Vaquero is under SWS (Scandinavian Western Shooters) which is a euro version of CAS. The same goes for my Ruger Super BH.. SWS Modern class.

If i were tempted to buy an BP handgun i have to member of NSU (Norwegian Svartkrutt/Blackpowder Union)

Alot of different organizations, who ofcourse claim their yearly member fee.. Thats the short version.. I dont know if i want to tell you the long one;)

Bureaucracy works in mysterious ways.. Not always the logical ones..

I guess i should feel lucky.. Things can turn "England" in an instant.. You can sense that "Ban everything that can be dangerous" lately because of the Finland school shooting...

Well, from one shooter to another, you're always welcome to move to our country.

That is nice! I like the heavy receiver version of the STI pistols!
