Today has been a great day. I got a bonus at work last week so after a little thought I went down to the local gun store and ended up bringing home 2 fine pistols (well I haven't shot them yet, but they "look" sweet).

I got a CZ 75B to keep my 97B company and after starting the paperwork decided that the Springfield Mil-Spec in the case in front of me needed a good home too. Wasn't sure what my wife was going to think when I came home with two guns in one trip but the total out the door price was only 2 dollars more than the bonus so she didn't seem to mind.

I've been sitting here fondling my first 1911 all evening. It seems quite tight for a base model gun. The trigger is kinda of heavy but I'm going to shoot 500 rounds through it before I change anything.

The CZ came with one 10 rounder and one 15 round magazine and it was on sale for 50 bucks off their normal price. I got the last one in the store. If it shoots as well as my 97B then I will be very pleased. In actuality, the test target for the 75B was better than the 97B's but I don't know what that means because the 97B shoots better than its target indicates.

Can you tell I'm excited!!!

Excellent! The CZ-75 is the best value on the market in NIB pistols, and everybody needs a 1911 anyway. Those are both fine guns. Now buy some ammo and pile up some brass!

Nice guns you got there!
Your CZ 75B should be sweet! Have fun shooting and let us know how you like the Springfield.

2 guns are better than 1! Anytime you can go home w/ new gun, you're doing okay. Anytime you go home w/ multiples, you're half way to being king (at least in CA you are ;) ) Congrats!

Congratulations! :D

Bet that 75B is going to be a favorite -- fast! :neener:

Got 'em out today

I got to the range to try out the new pistols. Shot 110 rounds of Winchester white box through the CZ-75B. No malfuncions. Very accurate when I rest the gun but my groups are not great. I used to think they were alright until I started seeing Stephen Camps groups:) .

I also shot 50 rounds through the 1911 Springfield Mil-Spec. Again, no malfunctions. It is very accurate (5 shot groups within the X-ring at 12 yards - of course from a rest). The trigger is a little stiff so my groups see to be low and left. Should work out over time.

I'm very happy with the guns and they will probably become my main range guns along with my ruger 22/45 which I can group with pretty well (still wouldn't want to take on Stephen though).

Congrats!! New toys that work great are excellent. I was deployed for 6 months and came home and bought 3 new toys with my hard earned desert money. Romanian AK, Glock 23 and a Kimber Pro CDP II. The AK and Glock shot flawlessly. The Kimber on the other hand is back at the custom shop getting fixed. For gun that comes out of the custom shop and costs a decent penny, it should work fine. Nope, not mine. Hopefully all turns out well.
