I'm wanting to get a new trigger group for my T/CR22 and would like some feedback on what you would suggest.

Thinking a full aluminum Volquartsen. I like the aluminum housing and the flatter trigger.

Hornet Custom Black Max. It's $100 less...but of course, is polymer. And it has the typical curved Ruger style trigger.

The KIDD trigger lowers appear to well spoken of. Also aluminum.

Thoughts?

personally, if I didn't want to do my own gunsmithing, https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=220 I'd just plop in a VQ hammer, possibly the trigger, and call it a day.
after that, I'd look hard at letting brimstone https://brimstonegunsmithing.com/shop/ruger-10-22/ruger-10-22/ work on my trigger. that hornet custom looks a lot like what brimstone offers, just for more $$
I'd rather have this https://www.kiddinnovativedesign.co...-Sear-Disconnect-and-Trigger-blade_p_116.html than the hornet pack.
If you want to go bananas you could do the whole VQ pack, but I feel like you are paying a lot for cosmetics. And if you're willing to pay that much, I'd get a kidd instead. https://www.kiddinnovativedesign.com/KIDD-Single-Stage-Trigger-Unit_p_45.html

but that's just my opinion. It and $1.08 will buy you something off the 99 cent menu at taco bell.

if you decide to replace teh whole pack, let me know if you want to make a couple bucks off your old one. I cannot pay a lot, but it's better than nothing.

I have considered Brimstone.

The reason I've considered an entire lower trigger group is due to the non standardized trigger used in the T/CR22, and because I really like this rifle, and because it really shoots well [for what was relatively inexpensive], I want to get the trigger up to where it needs to be.

Also, I have had some issues with the bolt hold open feature...where it were lock open [with rounds still in the magazine] for no apparent reason...and at random times. I'd assume that the Brimstone wouldn't really fix that issue. So just removing all that seems to be my best option.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this? Go for the better, more expensive KIDD,...or the less expensive Hornet Black Max?

Thanks to you, I am looking hard at the KIDD "trigger kit" for $115 - https://www.kiddinnovativedesign.co...-Sear-Disconnect-and-Trigger-blade_p_116.html

For my "factory" 10/22 thread, I was planning to do a "light polish" trigger job to see what it did to group size but thinking about ordering the KIDD trigger kit to compare (Also compare for T/CR22 "factory" thread).

The trigger kit probably won't fit in the T/CR22. That's why I'm considering the complete lower trigger section. But I really like the T/CR22....probably more so than my Ruger. Just has a pretty heavy trigger.

As an update, I went ahead and just got a Volquartsen trigger group. I like the design of it...as it matches the upper receiver design of the T/CR22 better. :)
