Like you've I've been seeing promo footage of a new television series on the FX network - entitled "Over There".

Looks to be pretty darn good, and I believe based on what I've seen that it may just give the "uncommitted" some positive insight into the humanity and nobility of our fighting men and women who are in The Sandbox right now.

Given the crapola that we see from the Hollywood crowd about our troops, it would be refreshing to see a genuinely positive, inspirational show that covers the good, the bad and the ugly -- but hopefully within the "context" our soldiers, marines, sailors, coast guardsmen and airmen truly deserve.

I would imagine that more than a few of us feel the same way. Come the 27th, Captain Mike and Son will defintely be tuned in.

I haven't seen the series, just the teaser/trailer on TV, but... In the trailer I saw, there's a zoom in on an M16 firing where they'd reversed the film, making it appear as though the ejection port was on the left hand side of the rifle. Go editor's guild! Another triumph.

And what would that be?

Maybe it is because I live in a town with 14 military bases, but I haven't seen anything but a positive portrayal of our servicemembers in the media. Even when that Devil Dog shot the unarmed guy on the floor, some of the local newscasters stated sympathy with the Marine's actions, and one went so far as to say he would have done the same thing.

Unless by Holywood you are referring to the movies, what war movies have come out depicting the current conflicts?
