Hi guys. I haven't visited for awhile but my recent purchase brings me back as this is the place where all 870 lovers seem to congregate. I am now the proud owner of what appears to be one of the nicest used Wingmasters I have ever seen. The original owner did use it but not very much. Kept it clean, No stock dents or scratches on the barrel. No rust or pits, beautiful wood. The date code on the barrel is LQ which I believe means it was made in Feb 1978. Correct me if I am wrong. Paid $375. I am one happy boy!!!:D

I should be so lucky. I don't know what the going rate is at dealers but Remington lists the MSRP of their Classic Trap 870 as $916. If you decide you paid too much, let me know and I'll drive down and relieve you of that burden. Any pictures?

$375 is on the good side of the price range for a TB in that condition.

You did well. Go shoot it and enjoy....

I will add a picture as soon as I can find my camera. I thought I made a pretty good deal but I wanted to run it by the experts. The guy who I bought it from had purchased it from an estate with some other guns and was selling off the ones he didn't want. Lucky me he doesn't shoot trap!

OK. This is the first time I have posted pictures so I hope they come out. The first pic is with my other favorite gun.....Red Label? Duh. Whichever way it comes out there is an 870 and a Ruger in there.:) By the way, ignore the frilly stuff, its my wifes.

Mike's right. Pretty.

I could be wrong but that looks more like C grade wood. If it shoots like it looks you have a real keeper...

I have always wanted a dedicated trap gun. I love my Ruger for skeet and sporting clays but have never done well with it at trap. When I found this one I knew it was the one and by the way Dave, I took it out and it does shoot like it looks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a keeper then. My TB is a 1978 version.

Mike the bore when you can. Betcha it's slightly over spec, providing good patterns and softer shooting.

hi red,, the wood on that gun looks like my TB,, lot of burl and the monte carlo,,, very nice,,, i got mine from the original owner back in 83-84 and it was very slightly used too....enjoy that shotgun,,,,, i know i have mine

ocharry:D

Right now I am enjoying it, mostly just admiring it in my gun cabinet behind me. Soon to be shooting it a lot. Dave, I dont have an inside mike so I guess I will take your word for the overbore:) . It didn't seem to kick much but I have also worked up a reload that is quite a nice shooter. Thanks for the kind words of appreciation.
