Have been hankering for a .45 ACP for a few years, finally hit the "Buy it Now" on Gunbroker.com last week for what what was advertised as a
".45" Sprngfld XD (dirt cheap). Upon reciept of the gun, found it to be a .45 GAP. Reviewing the auction description revealed GAP in the fine print so I can't gripe about the seller misrepresenting his sale. Long story short....is this gun worth keeping? Don't know diddley about large bore auto's, but do have a ton of .45 ACP brass and bullets I've picked up over the years. Thoughts?

Sorry to hear you didn't get what you wanted; I have a new XD45T that I could recommend to anyone. The GAP round makes sense because one no longer needs the acp round to get the same ballistics; really 45acp only carries an advantage over 45GAP or even 40S&W if you get the +P rounds. Only then does the longer cartridge and big slug still have the advantage it was designed to deliver.

You could likely trade some of your ammo for GAP, ACP seems hard to find and you could likely undercut the stores on price considering you picked it up when it was reasonably valued.
