New York Gun Law Made Easy

A: Most handguns are not assault weapons and are not affected by this law. A traditionally designed handgun is not an assault weapon. For example a single shot pistol or a revolver cannot be an assault weapon.

Well that's just not true. Most common handguns are affected by the law. Every NYPD gun would be. Most Glocks, etc.

But don't worry, single shot pistols are OK!! I honestly don't think I've ever seen a single shot pistol.

Will NYPD be giving up their magazines over 7 rounds?

I'll bet Cuomo's bodyguards have magazines over 7 rounds.

It looks like from that you can keep 10 round mags, use them in competition with 10 rounds, but can't load more than 7 rounds in them outside competition. Thats simply brilliant.

And a pistol with an threaded barrel to accept a silencer is an assault weapon.

Mini-14s are legal.
