Dear Tpaw,

You're welcome. You be safe too.

I forgot to mention that my late husband and I did go THROUGH NY state from our former Great Lakes home on our way to Maine several times. Late 90's time frame. People were kind to us when we stopped to get fuel, eat in a restaurant, have a picnic, visit some historical sites on our way to Maine. That was with a pick up truck and later on with a SUV pulling a Coleman pop up camper.

He visited NY with some of his USN shipmates during Vietnam time. After one of his tours. The NY shipmate took a few of them out to see the sights and one of them was to a baseball game. My late husband had never been on a subway before. He had been on trains in the US and in Europe though. Anyway, he had a nice time and a lot of the NONE NY sailors realized that most New Yorkers were pretty cool! Oh yes, he LOVED the food. He discovered "Nathan's hot dogs" along with restaurant food there! He liked two kinds of coffee up there that they did not have on board ship or in farm country. He was raised with very plain food and discovered some interesting meals up there, some he liked and some he would not even try, same as when WE got married later on down the road! Try eating the dinner or time to eat on ship! Grin.

Bye for now.

Catherine - Born in New York too!

Anyone visiting NYC will be pleasantly surprised by The Metroplitan Museum Of Art's incredible collection of arms and armor. It's situated on the main floor and is always on display.
It's the best arms and armor collection I've ever seen. The NRA museum and APG have more comprehensive firearms collections, but I've never seen it's match for armor, edged weapons, polearms and the like.
