This is a great press. I've been watching it on eBay, but I don't really need another one:

Get a copy of Lyman's 48th Reloading Handbook and read it cover to cover. Especially the chapters before the load data starts.

I suggest you read the stickies re: reloading at the top of the main page.Some good info there.
Rifle and pistol are 2 different breeds of cat to relaod.Start with the pistol round,and then you'll know some of the basics of running the press and setting up the dies.
I like the LYman's book for load data and general info.That and 'the ABC's of reloading' will come in real handy ..for years to come.

The Lee Classic Turret is about as good as it gets for an all around low dollar setup that'll do multiple calibers. Check out the Cabela's kit, and also the one at Kempf.

RCBS rock chuckers supreme master reloading kit. The names a little redundent, but its an exlent press. You should really look into it. Everything you need to start off reloading.

I started with the lee anniversery kit. Its cheap and you can buy it direct from Lee with there loading manuel. The ABCs of reloading is also what I read before I bought a press. You can never have enough manuals for cross reference. If its something you decide you like, you can always up grade. I only load 45LC and 45/70, since there both straight wall case the single stage is ok for now. I will probably be loading more calibers soon and will up grade to a progressive. Any help you need this is the site for it. When I started I gots lots of info here. Just my 2cents good luck, Bob

the anniversery kit is the way to go, to see if you want to stay with it. if you find out you do ,you can always find lesser duties for the press like decaping, or for a back up. this entry kit is very servicable and it's reasonably priced,(got mine for $69. 00) the book by Lee is also very useful he has a unique out look on reloading.
if you want to go even cheaper there are the Lee Loaders availabe in your calibers. both kits can load M.O.A quality ammo, and the plus is BIG FUN also!

Lee Anniversary kit will do. RCBS master kit is better equipment fo slightly more money.
Ask your local gun shop if they have any used press deals. I got an old RCSB Reloader Supreme from my shop for $10.

I agree with campbell and the Lee classic turret press. It is very easy for a beginner to set up and operate. I started with the classic turret and was happy I did. I found out after three weeks of loading on the classic that if I had started with a single stage press then I would be upgrading already. If you are going to load pistol ammo then I wouldn't recommend a single stage press. I load 9mm, 38/357 and 223 on my classic and they all load very easy. The ammo has been very good and consistant. I have had it for a year and a half and it has been a very reliable press. I haven't had any problems and the press is a very sturdy press. The classic turret can be used as an auto indexing turret press or a single stage press if you take the indexing rod out. I use it as a single stage press for part of my rifle loading without taking the rod out, I just don't lower the ram enough to cycle the indexing rod. Most people load around 200 rounds per hour loading pistol on the classic. Rifle will be a little slower because of the case prep, but that has to be done no matter what press you use.

If you read through those two threads, you should be able to put together a comprehensive kit at a budget level you are comfortable with.
