I read on an earlier post that just about any iron sighted rifle would be legal to shoot in HP competition. Would a Sporterized Swedish Mauser be legal to shoot? It's a 6.5 x 55 Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktor 1904 model. If not what other class could it be shot in?

Also in what rifle classes are scopes used in competition? I have a Sporterized Remington 03-A3 .30-06 that doesn't have iron sights and was wondering if there was a class that it could be shot in with a scope.

Thanks,

DE

DE,

Your Swede Mauser can be shot in the Match Rifle category in any NRA Highpower event. It does not qualify for NRA Service Rifle as it's not a USGI weapon. The CMP is now shooting some events for foreign service rifles alongside the JCGarand Match and the Springfield Match. See the CMP's website for rules and details.... www.odcmp.com

Your sporterized & scoped '03 Spfld can be shot in "F" Class events. I think that "F" class is only shot as a LR Match (i.e. 600 yds., prone, slow fire). See the other recent thread about "competitions with a hunting rifle" for more ideas...... I believe it's over in the "Rifle Country" forum.

Best regards,
Swampy
