News story today in Houston TX regarding gun registration

Local news reported briefly today on new legislation regarding firearms registration. I caught the tale end of the story. Anyone know more about this? Is this a Texas thing or national deal?

Were they reporting on HR45?

Need more info, as I highly doubt it was local or even a Texas issue.

It was channel 13. I heard them mention HRXXX as I was running into the room but was still out of earshot.

It is not a Texas or Houston thing in any way, shape or form.

HR45 sucks all over, it is pretty much the same style of gun registration I walked away from in Canada... though I never did register anything I owned.

IIRC there are 16 million registered firearms for ~ 27/28 million people in Canada, although for every registered firearm there is probably 3 or 4 that are NOT registered...
