I recently purchased a 642 and got my concealed carry license. I was at Gander mountain picking up my father a present one of the LCP. I saw two guns that really caught my interest. I am trying to decide which one I would like more. I am looking for something to take to the range and have a little fun with. I have never owned either and Can't really decide. Both have their strong suits. One is the Mark III and the other is a Super Redhawk 44. Both seem like they would be fun. And I don't have a plinking 22 yet.

I have both and I shoot the MK III a lot more, if you're not into pistol hunting then the .22 would give a lot of bang for the money. I have Ruger revolvers in .357 mag, .44 mag, and .480 Ruger, they range in price per shot from 50 cents to $1.50, the Green label CCI target ammunition in .22 is about 12 cents a shot. I love all of my Rugers, but my favorite is the 4 inch GP 100 in.357 magnum, ( it is the loudest and throws the most flame ), it is also very comfortable to shoot, unlike the .44 mag. Get what pleases you... you can never have too many guns... unless you speak to my wife. Let us know what you decide, they are both good choices, albiet at opposite ends of the spectrum.
