Didn't that already happen around DC several years ago? Some sniper wannabe was taking pot shots at cars on the highway or something like that. I guess things might be different if it happened in today's political climate.
This very sort of thing happened in the Detroit area just a few months ago.

I don't recall if they ever mentioned the type of gun used. only one individual was injured as I recall.

I got my EBSR a couple weekends ago.

Corky- is that a Savage 10 Precision Carbine? I have been looking at getting one in .308 since they first came out. How do you like yours?

Doc,

I just got a Savage 12 BTCSS early January in .223 and found the same thing, bullet wise. I don't load but I have a place I buy from that will make up combos to try. They sent me some 55gr V-Max with 24.5gr of Varget to try. I have a safe full of PMC 55gr .223 that runs through my AR's like butter but the Savage absolutely hates it. 1" spacing at 50 yards and 4" high and right from POA. I was thinking I had a bad rifle until I ran 2 three round groups of the 55gr custom V-Max down range and literally made 2 ragged holes, one from each group of 3. The next time out I tried a string of 55gr Hornady Superformance and it was literally all over the target at 100 yards. Don't waste money on hot, light loads in this rifle, it hates them.

I'm new to target rifle shooting and had heard about how sensitive some rifles can be to ammo but never experienced it like I have with the Savage. Deadly accurate with one round and barely on paper with another......

Yep, Mdl 10 PC in .308. I love it. There are days that I think it should have an additional 2" on the barrel. Then I shoot a string, and ask why? It shoots better than I do. I was leary about the Accustock, but I have it dialed in now. It is pretty stable, all things considered. With the short barrel (20") it has a bit of a bounce off of the bipod. Using the sling and snapping in well seems to solve that though. Shooting offhand with the 20" barrel is a dream. It also took a while for the ACU camo to speak to me. The original black finish on the metal was a stark contrast. Painting the metal olive and the Turner sling in green took care of that.

Duly noted!

The two muslim extremist who were shooting up DC used a Bushmaster AR.

The clown who was taking pot shot's from the over passes in Columbus Ohio, was using a Beretta 92, of some flavor. The one woman who was killed was just dumb bad luck.

The Detroit Shooting I, didn't hear about, so I, can't comment on the weapon.

The fun part about this sport is the discovery's of what work, and what dose not.

"Cept for the caliber, NICE rifle! My Savage is in 7mm Rem Mag. It's taken a few head of game, a mulie out at 370 yards being my longest. I don't shoot game much further and the conditions have to be right. :D Mine's a 20 year old 110 topped with a Weatherby Supreme 3x9x44 and it shoots about 1 MOA at best. It's kinda builet picky, likes 150 Game Kings and 160 Nosler Partitions and RL22 powder. I tried a LOT of combinations in the gun to find the right one. I've shot ONE store bought round through it, guy gave me a box of Federal Premium 160 Nosler partitions. It shot well with that. If I had to use factory ammo, I'd go that round, but they're expensive. I'd rather handload for it, of course.

Ain't no prairie dogs around here.

Back in late 2008, I made a post similar to this and it never got past the "it's only a sniper rifle if the person shooting it is actually a sniper:neener:

Chuckleheads
My friends and I have also been talking about this for a long time. CA went after the 50 cal ones a decade or so ago.

Thanks

I concentrated on being more precise and consistent with my powder throws with this batch.

better, but a long way to go

Allround & Corky;

Your disgusting pseudo-guns are obviously not qualified to be compared to the OP's. Gad men, can't you see! THE BOLT'S ON THE WRONG SIDE.

Flippin' right hander's.

Really?

Well, here's a few targets, each with a different powder load at 100yds from a stock Savage and, of course, from a rookie shooter.

Mmmmm. Got to love an EBSR. The smell of burned powder and a bit of #9, just makes you want to get comfortable and be very still for a while.
